Slow-Cooker Kalua Pork

Kalua Pork is made in a slow cooker, so easy, so tasty, and just a few ingredients. Top with coleslaw for a beautiful and flavorful balance.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 Pound pork butt roast
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Hawaiian or sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons liquid smoke flavoring
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large banana with peel
  • Hawaiian buns
  • Coleslaw (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Pierce pork all over with a fork. Rub salt, liquid smoke, and brown sugar over the meat. Place roast and slow cooker.
    Slit the seam down the banana peel and place it on top of the roast. Cook on low for 14 to 16 hours, turning once during cooking time.
    Remove the roast from the slow cooker and shred and peel. Return to the slow cooker and mix the meat with juices.
    Serve on Hawaiian rolls with coleslaw.
