Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 pounds  tomatoes (vine-ripe, Roma, or heirloom), cored and quartered
  • 1 medium red onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • juice from 1/2 lime
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon white sugar (optional)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Combine all ingredients in a food processor and pulse in 1-second bursts until all ingredients are finely chopped.
    Refrigerate salsa for at least 3 hours prior to serving so the flavors are allowed to meld together. Serve with tortilla chips.
    Store in refrigerator for up to 1 week.
