Philly Cheesesteak Sliders
Ingredients
- 1 large green bell pepper, diced
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 10 ounces deli-sliced roast beef (rare or medium is best)
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 packet dry brown gravy mix
- 12 dinner rolls
- 8 ounces shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 350˚F. Butter the bottom of a rimmed baking sheet.Heat olive oil over medium-high heat, saute diced green peppers and yellow onions into a large pan.Chop the sliced roast beef into small squares.Once the onions are starting to brown, add the chopped roast beef and garlic to the pan and stir well. Add the water, gravy mix, and pepper to the pan. Stir well and cook until no liquid remains in the pan. Remove the pan from the heat. Slice rolls in half lengthwise and place the bottoms in the baking sheet. Try to keep the bread in 2 pieces (top and bottom). Spoon the roast beef mixture evenly over the bottom rolls.Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of the roast beef mixture.Place the tops of the rolls over the cheese. brush butter over top with a pastry brush.Bake slides for 10 minutes – 12 minutes.Remove the sliders from the oven and allow them to cool for a couple of minutes. Separate sandwiches with a pizza cuter.
